2008 Monster Madness World Champion
"John Zimmer & T-Maxx / Shock Therapy"
It was the year that Bigfoot driver Rick Long would have his driving record equaled - but not by himself - by the young veteran driver John Zimmer. That’s right, Zimmer as his friends call him entered the tour with teammate John Killinger mid-way through May and he did not waste any time tearing up his truck show after show inside both small hockey arenas and outside at fairs and race tracks from coast to coast.
I will say this about John Zimmer… he is in this sport for the right reasons, to entertain each and every fan young and old that comes and watches him perform, and boy does he perform. From the time the pit party starts it's “game-on” for Zimmer. John is always eager to sign autographs for each and every person. Now if that is not enough, John is a Wheelie Champion, Freestyle Champion, Racing Champion. That’s right, from coast to coast, city after city John tore his truck up, and with the help of his teammate and the Monster Madness family would always have his truck ready for the next show.
East Coast: Zimmer Champion
Ontario: Zimmer Champion
West Coast: Zimmer Champion
World Finals: Zimmer Racing Champion & 2nd place in Freestyle
Let me tell you, there was no gift in any of these events as Zimmer had the likes of Bounty Hunter, Bigfoot, team mate Killer, Maniac and Jurassic attack to compete against. Several of the races had to go to video replay and in the end it was Zimmer on top.
John Zimmer is one of the finest gentlemen in the business and one of the best monster truck drivers in the business today and it gives me great pleasure to announce after tallying up all the results from the shows this year that John Zimmer is the undisputed 2008 Monster Madness World Champion!
2007 Monster Madness World Champion
"Rick Long & Team Big Foot"
Monster Madness debuted in May 2007 in Belleville Ontario. The Line-up was huge Big Foot, Predator, Prowler, T-Maxx and Suden Impact. All trucks with experienced drivers and drivers who all came out to win the first race of the 2007 Season. When the smoke cleared it was Rick Long and Big Foot taking the Wins in Racing and Freestyle. The tour moved down East where Rick and team Big Foot was pushed hard by the other drivers to get his wins but Rick managed to drive Big Foot to wins both nights in Saint John. He won both freestyle and Racing both Friday and Saturday Nights. Rick and Big Foot are on a Role.
The tour moved to the beautiful province of Prince Edward Island. Big Foot has not ventured here before could Rick keep up the winning streak. The answer, yes. Predator Prowler and others gave it there all but Foot came out on top again in both Racing and Freestyle. Another win! Next stop Sydney Nova Scotia, and yes Long and Big Foot wins Freestyle and Racing again. What will it take to stop this American born legend. Could Big Foot and Rick win all the races and freestyle in Canada?
With a week off the toured headed across the ocean via an 8 hour ferry ride and a 4 hour drive to Corner Brook, Newfoundland. Rick Long came out of the gate strong and again and won both Racing and Freestyle. In Freestyle Rick was getting huge air some saying he was hire then the FMX riders. When asked why he was driving so hard his comments were “That the people of Newfoundland put so much energy in the air with the cheers and screams when his truck was announced at intros he had to tear up the place” Could he do the same in St John’s NL. The Answer was yes. Rick won both racing and freestyle again. What will it take to stop this guy?
Long drive and Boat ride to Oshawa Ontario where the next event (battle) was set to happen. Two shows in one day. In show number 1 long won Qualifying but in the finals Kyle Chandler driving Dominator was declared the winner by the line judge. After about 5 minutes of reviewing the video replay it was clear that Big Foot crossed the Finish line first. Big Foot Streak stays alive as Long won Freestyle also.
Show #2 in the motor city there was no question who the winner was as long clearly won both racing and Freestyle Boy is this guy on-fire or what.
Now to the out Doors a huge track and huge competition with Jim Kohler 2003 world Champ and Predator and Prowler and Kohler’s brother Steve Driving Spike.
Two shows in two days in Day one it was clear Bigfoot won both Freestyle and Racing again. Rick Drove Hard and did some huge slap wheelies and flew over the bus large. He also beat Jim.
Conclusion: Rick Long takes the 2007 Monster Madness Canadian Championship
2006 Monster Madness World Champion
"Scott Porier & Anger Management"
2005 Monster Madness World Champion
"Rick Raab & American Guardian"
Monster Madness debuted in May 2005 at the Halifax Forum. The 1st show of the 2005 season included Predator, Prowler, Towasaures Wrex, and Anger Management. American Guardian Was not slated to join the tour until our second show which would be in Corner brook NL. This putting him behind in the point’s race for the 2005 Championship.
Corner brook NL. Watch out here comes the Monsters and here comes American Guardian and his Fierce competition Allan Pezzo driver of Prowler, Larry Jarzel driver of Predator, Jeff Bursey driver of Towasaures Wrex, and Rick Raab’s teammate Scot Porier driver of Anger Management. Prowler coming of the win in Halifax was on a high but Raab was not to be out done by the time the dust cleared it was Rick Raab and the American Guardian taking 1st place in Corner brook. Our tour then moved to St John NL.
Again the trucks were on fire and it looked like Raab was going to take another 1st when he blew a drive shaft and Predator Larry Jarzel took 1st place in St. John.
Back to the mainland to Cape Breton and St. John’s NB. Raab Became on fire hitting every obstacle on the course taking on all challengers and taking home all titles in Cape Breton and St. John’s. That’s not all Raab took his success to Lake Doucette where he had to go up against the likes of Towasaurses Wrex who went over a double bus stack.
Raab pulled out all the stops and put his truck on the rear wheels and drove a wheelie forever….Raab is on Fire another Win.
Off to NBIS Speedway a new track and a new Competitor Bigfoot was in the house what is going to happen here while Anger Management took Big Foot out in Racing, Big Foot came back and cleaned up in Freestyle. Looked like Raab might of met his match here Rick Long from Big Foot was tearing up the course. Day two of the NBIS show was a different story after getting defeated by Big Foot the night before Raab came out on top
tearing up the course flying high over the cars in monster truck racing taking 1st and when it came to Freestyle Raab hit every obstacle on the course and I mean every obstacle. He even took on the 13’ high by 32’ long FMX landing ramp he flew his monster off that ramp and became airborne. RAAB takes another Win..
Monster Madness traveled to Ontario for the rest of the tour and RAAB tore up the courses and town after town Raab and the American Guardian Truck were taking first places all summer long.
